Gardens by the Bay

After an exhausting morning and afternoon immersing ourselves in the rich Singapore culture, the 13 of us (including the lovely Ms White and Ms Field) made the long trip up to Gardens by the Bay, through Marina Bay Sands. The time was just right for candid photography, and the lighting was absolutely superb. The vertical gardens were very unique in their aesthetics, as well as ergonomics. By the time we arrived at the viewing platform, the lights had started to come on, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

We then rode the elevator down to the ground level, where we walked a short distance to the Cloud Dome. The night air was slowly beginning to freshen up, so we took advantage by belting out a few Katy Perry songs and rapping about the legendary Alison Chen (10 out of 10). We walked around the magnificent interior of the Dome, and admired the beautiful greenery and fascinating plants. It was nice to see such a great integration between nature and man-made architecture.

The stunning waterfall ( a few of us got wet)
Inside the Cloud Dome we watched a very sobering documentary about the effects of global warming.

Since everyone was quite tired (Nicole even had a stomach ache - but don't worry Nicole's parents, it has subsided), we decided to go back to the food court of Marina to have dinner. Everyone got something different to eat, and it was nice to bond over some very large of pad thai (shoutout to Christina). Wendy and Maggie had a collaboration of laksa and rice, Isabella and Elizabeth had dumplings and pork buns. Christina and Catherine shared pad thai and fried rice. Joie and Alison had something that they couldn't pronounce and milk tea. Averlie had chicken, rice and bok choi (same as Ms White). Nicole had chicken noodle soup and sprite. And I had chicken rice. What an adventurous meal! Too bad we didn't take any pictures (too busy inhaling the food)

Some of us went to Bath and Body Works, while the lesser athletic of us (guess who? Rhyming with Schnancy, Schnicole, Schalison and Schaverlie) remained sedentary in our seats, trying to adjust our body clocks and loosen our rapidly tightening skirts.

It was overall a very enjoyable experience. We discovered many things that has changed our perception of the world.

It's only the first day but we are already become one huge happy family.
